Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections of the urinary tract, bacterial infections by inflammation of the peritoneum, eye and ear infections, skin and soft tissue infections, sexually transmitted infections, respiratory infections, vaginal infections, protozoan infections, intra-abdominal infections, and infections during surgical procedures. It is also indicated in the treatment of diarrhoea of mixed infections in adults.
Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s is a combination of two antibiotic drugs, namely: Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase which is required for the replication, transcription, and repair of the DNA. Ornidazole inhibits protein synthesis and leads to cell death, thereby kills the bacteria. Together, Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s helps in treating bacterial infections.
Take Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s as prescribed. In some cases, Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s may cause side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, and dizziness. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side-effects persist or worsen.
Talk to your doctor if you experience pain in tendons, swelling, and inflammation as Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s is associated with an increased risk of tendon rupture and tendonitis. Consult your doctor before taking Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s as it may cause increased dizziness. Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s is not recommended for use in children.
Directions for Use
Tablet/Capsule: Swallow it as a whole with water; do not chew, break or crush the tablet/capsule. Syrup/Suspension/Drops: Take the prescribed dose by mouth using the measuring cup/dosing syringe/dropper provided by the pack; shake the pack well before each use.
Drug Warnings
Do not take Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s if you are allergic to any of its contents; if you had swelling or tearing of tendons while taking quinolone antibiotics; or if you have myasthenia gravis, as it may cause increased muscle weakness. Talk to your doctor before taking Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s if you have epilepsy, low levels of potassium, nervous or muscle problems, head injury or brain tumour, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, heart, kidney or liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Oflox OZ Tablet 10’s as it may cause increased dizziness.
HOW TO USE OFLOX OZ TABLET
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Oflox OZ Tablet is to be taken with food.
HOW OFLOX OZ TABLET WORKS
Oflox OZ Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Ornidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
