Amtas-E Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). This is a combination of two medicines that controls blood pressure when a single medication is not effective. It helps to lower high blood pressure and thus reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke.
You can take Amtas-E Tablet at any time of day, with or without food, but it is best to take it at the same time each day. Keep taking it for as long as advised by your doctor. Even if you feel well, do not stop this medicine on your own because high blood pressure often has no symptoms. If you stop taking it, your condition may get worse. Keeping active with regular exercise, reducing your weight and eating a healthy diet will also help control your blood pressure. Follow your doctor’s advice while taking this medicine.
It may cause side effects like taste change, ankle swelling, headache, weakness, and tiredness. It may also cause dizziness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. This might raise the level of potassium in the blood, hence avoid potassium rich food or supplements. You may be asked for regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes level while on the treatment.

It relaxes blood vessels so that blood passes through them easily, thereby lowering blood pressure. It also treats chest pain by improving the blood supply to the heart muscle to receive more oxygen. Amlodipine also improves a person’s tolerance to exercise and keeps the blood pressure at acceptable levels. Enalapril is an ‘Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitor.’ It relaxes and widens the blood vessels making it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body, thereby lowering blood pressure.
Directions for Use
Take Amtas E Tablet 15’s with or without food as directed by your physician. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it. Try to take it at a fixed time every day. Do not double the dose if missed.

Drug Warnings
Do not use Amtas E Tablet 15’s if you are allergic to Amtas E Tablet 15’s or any of its components. Please inform your doctor if you are using any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking, including vitamins, before starting Amtas E Tablet 15’s. Let your doctor know if you have any history of severe heart, kidney, or liver diseases, high potassium levels (hyperkalemia), bone marrow suppression, and aortic stenosis (heart valve problem). It is essential to let your doctor know if you are a breastfeeding mother before using Amtas E Tablet 15’s since Amlodipine may pass into the breast milk. Enalapril is not recommended during pregnancy since it has harmful effects on the unborn baby. Please ask your doctor if you plan to conceive or are pregnant before using Amtas E Tablet 15’s. Amtas E Tablet 15’s can increase the chances of light-headedness so rise slowly if you are sitting/lying and avoid operating any machine or doing any work that needs mental alertness.
